Positioned within the Atlantis Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in the Western Cape, we manufacture precision lattice steel structures purpose-built for the demands of the South African grid and export markets across sub-Saharan Africa.

Our founding mandate aligns with Southern Africa's long-term infrastructure development agenda — providing domestic manufacturing capability for 132kV through 765kV lattice tower systems and structural steel components that the region has historically relied on imports to supply, and positioning South Africa as a credible industrial base for the continent's energy and infrastructure buildout.

Beyond transmission towers, NT Structures serves eight distinct industrial markets from the same world-class manufacturing footprint, leveraging South Africa's structural steel standards, HDG finishing capability, and proximity to the Port of Cape Town for export logistics.

Tangent Suspension Towers (0°–2°)
Straight-line and very small angle structures forming the backbone of any transmission line. Manufactured to client and utility type drawings including the 517E and 518H families. Lightweight optimised design for high-volume repetitive use across long corridors.
Small Angle Towers (2°–15°)
Deviation structures for moderate line angle changes. Designed with enhanced cross-arm and body bracing to carry the resultant transverse loads while maintaining conductor clearances across multi-bundle configurations.
Large Angle Towers (15°–60°)
Heavy deviation structures for significant route changes. Robust lattice body with reinforced leg sections and extended cross-arm geometry to manage the increased transverse and torsional loading at major deviation points.
Dead-End & Anchor Towers
Full tension termination structures designed to carry unbalanced longitudinal loads in addition to transverse and vertical loading. Used at section ends, river crossings, road crossings, and major angle points where line continuity must be maintained under broken-conductor conditions.
Transposition Towers
Specialised structures facilitating conductor rotation to equalise impedance across three-phase circuits on long transmission lines. Available in both suspension and tension configurations depending on route requirements.
Guyed & Guyed-V Structures
Economical alternative to self-supporting towers where terrain and way-leave permit. Tubular or lattice mast configurations with multi-leg guying arrangements — particularly suited to flat terrain corridors on 132kV and 275kV networks.

All structural steelwork is manufactured to client-supplied drawings and specifications. NT Structures provides fabrication, hot-dip galvanizing, quality inspection, individual member marking, and logistics coordination as a single integrated service — eliminating the sub-contracting delays and quality gaps that arise when these functions are split across multiple suppliers.

NT Structures operates as an engineer-to-order fabricator for clients who bring a design challenge, a concept drawing, or a prototype requirement. NT Structures operates one of the longest hot-dip galvanizing baths in the Western Cape — available to external clients as a toll processing service. Our 15m bath accommodates structural components that most regional galvanizers cannot process, creating a genuine competitive advantage for clients with large or long fabricated elements.

15m Galvanizing Bath
Accommodates structural members, lattice sections, conveyor frames, guardrail systems, gate frames, and other long-format components in a single dip — eliminating the double-dipping, witness marks, and quality inconsistencies that arise when components exceed standard bath lengths.
SANS 121 / ISO 1461 Compliance
All galvanized components are processed and inspected to SANS 121 (ISO 1461) requirements. Coating thickness measurement, adhesion testing, and surface finish inspection are performed as standard, with full test records issued per batch.
Integrated Pretreatment
Full pretreatment line including degreasing, acid pickling (PP-H lined tanks), fluxing, and rinsing — all on-site. Components arrive fabricated and leave galvanized, with no third-party logistics or handover required between stages.
