NT Structures (Pty) Ltd is a Rothoma Investments venture established to address a critical gap in South Africa's electricity transmission infrastructure supply chain. Positioned within the Atlantis Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in the Western Cape, we manufacture precision lattice steel structures purpose-built for the demands of the South African grid and export markets across sub-Saharan Africa.
Our founding mandate aligns with Southern Africa's long-term infrastructure development agenda — providing domestic manufacturing capability for 132kV through 765kV lattice tower systems and structural steel components that the region has historically relied on imports to supply, and positioning South Africa as a credible industrial base for the continent's energy and infrastructure buildout.
Beyond transmission towers, NT Structures serves eight distinct industrial markets from the same world-class manufacturing footprint, leveraging South Africa's structural steel standards, HDG finishing capability, and proximity to the Port of Cape Town for export logistics.
Backed by the IDC and in line with DTiC policies, NT Structures is positioned to become South Africa's foremost lattice steel fabricator — creating skilled employment, localising supply chains, and generating foreign currency through export.
Located in the Atlantis Industrial SEZ, our greenfields facility was designed from first principles for the manufacture of lattice steel transmission structures and heavy structural components — with the process flow, crane coverage, and finishing capacity to serve multiple product lines simultaneously.

Southern Africa's long-term infrastructure development agenda projects demand for more than 14,000km of new and upgraded transmission lines by 2032, requiring an estimated 280,000–350,000 tonnes of lattice steel tower structures. NT Structures is positioned as a preferred domestic supplier within this pipeline.
Our fabrication capability extends well beyond transmission towers. Using the same precision cutting, forming, welding, and galvanizing processes, NT Structures manufactures engineered structural steelwork to client drawings across six major end-use sectors.
All structural steelwork is manufactured to client-supplied drawings and specifications. NT Structures provides fabrication, hot-dip galvanizing, quality inspection, individual member marking, and logistics coordination as a single integrated service — eliminating the sub-contracting delays and quality gaps that arise when these functions are split across multiple suppliers.
NT Structures operates as an engineer-to-order fabricator for clients who bring a design challenge, a concept drawing, or a prototype requirement. Our advanced equipment suite — combined with in-house design-assist capability — enables us to take a project from technical brief through to finished, galvanized component.

NT Structures operates one of the longest hot-dip galvanizing baths in the Western Cape — available to external clients as a toll processing service. Our 15m bath accommodates structural components that most regional galvanizers cannot process, creating a genuine competitive advantage for clients with large or long fabricated elements.
